Shades of Interpretation
February 1, 2021In the first amendment, it states that the people can can “peaceably” assemble in protest or otherwise; it does mention what peaceably means. They leave this to the interpreter as there may not be a fine line to peaceful and violent assemblies which its ambiguity could be used against protesters by the opposing party. Similarly, the fourth amendment states that the people cannot undergo “unreasonable searches and seizes”.
